Teaching Interests

Dedicated chemistry professor with more than 20 years of combined academic and industry experience in organic synthesis, teaching, and chemical education research. Recognized for innovative approaches to curriculum design, active learning, and the integration of emerging technologies such as VR and AI into STEM education. Experienced mentor to over 30 undergraduate students, with a strong record of publications, outreach, and leadership in advancing accessible and engaging chemistry learning.

Research Interests

My research spans both organic synthesis and chemical education. In organic chemistry, I have published peer-reviewed articles on asymmetric allylboration and borabicyclodecane chemistry. More recently, my work has focused on chemical education, including studies of predictors of student success in organic chemistry, innovative assessment strategies such as student-generated videos, and the integration of interactive tools for K–12 and undergraduate learning. She has authored six peer-reviewed publications, co-authored a K–12 teacher’s manual (Química Divertida), and developed educational resources such as the Hexdots Organic Chemistry Notebook in Amazon.
